Records are meant to be broken -- especially when it comes to serving those in need. On this “Giving Tuesday,” we’re recognizing the servant hearts of our teammates who donate both their money and time towards our bi-annual Hendrick Hunger Hero’s fundraising drive.

July 12 was a significant milestone for Hendrick Automotive Group’s ongoing commitment towards fighting against hunger. In the largest single-day meal-packing effort in company history, more than 350 volunteers visited local food bank partners in Atlanta, Kansas City, Pleasanton (Calif.), Charleston (South Carolina), Raleigh and Charlotte honored Rick Hendrick’s birthday by simultaneously participating in the inaugural “Day of Service.”

Tis the season for giving. And giving it certainly was. Hendrick Lexus Northlake, located in Charlotte, North Carolina, tasked five teams of teammates to create the best assortment and display of toys.

As part of the organization’s Hendrick Hunger Heroes initiative, teammates in Raleigh, North Carolina, including Reggie Jackson Airport Honda, Hendrick Chevrolet Cary and Porsche Southpoint, came together at Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, which is the largest and oldest food bank in the state who serves 34 counties in the Triangle area, to help pack meals for those facing hunger in their local community.

Its Charlotte race week and we’re celebrating locally with the community.

Approximately 100 students welcomed defending Charlotte Motor Speedway road coarse winner Kyle Larson to their automotive tech department at Harding University High School on Friday afternoon.

Eleven deserving veterans and military members and their families were honored at the regional USAA headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina and presented with National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides® vehicles, all donated by USAA.

Each year, Hendrick Automotive Group aides all of its dealerships and collision center nationwide to focus on sustainability and maximizing landfill diversion. Being good stewards of the environment allows us to make a difference in each of our communities where dealerships and collision centers are located.

Teammates from our South Carolina dealerships were on hand to celebrate Military Appreciation Night at Patriots Point Soccer Stadium and honor military members of the Charleston, S.C. community.
