Kyle Larson, who qualified eighth, battled a “super loose on entry” condition in his No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 early in Saturday night’s 400-lap event at Martinsville Speedway. He raced as high as seventh before a late-race penalty dropped the reigning champion mid pack and took the checkered flag 19th. 

Kyle Larson, who qualified 21st, battled a loose condition in his No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 early in Sunday’s 400-lap event at Richmond Raceway before various pit strategies landed the reigning champion inside the top 10 in the race's final stage. Although he was able to cut a 10-second deficit to the leader down to less than four seconds in the closing laps, he was unable to reel in the eventual race winner before securing his third top-five finish of the season.

 

There was a tremendous showing of power for Greg Anderson and his HendrickCars.com Chevrolet at this weekend's NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, and although the power was not enough to propel him to a win on Sunday at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the reigning NHRA Pro Stock world champion put himself in position for a shot at a victory after securing the No. 2 position during the weekend's qualifying sessions.

Pit strategy and lightning-fast pit stops led to solid running positions for Kyle Larson in Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series road course event at Circuit of The Americas before a late-race restart didn't go as planned that resulted in a 29th-place finish for the reigning champion. Larson and the No. 5 team left Austin, Texas 16th in the point standings after the first six races of the season.  

With two laps to go in stage two while battling for the lead, Kyle Larson was involved in a multi-car accident. Damage to the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet ZL1 was too severe and Larson was forced to the garage, finishing 30th after completing only 212 of 325 laps. The reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion now sits 12th in the standings after five races.

Kyle Larson started second and finished second at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday. The driver of the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet ZL1 finished sixth in stage one and third in stage two. Larson moved from eighth up to first in the point standings after the third race of the season.
