For Darcy Siebert, family is everything.

After losing her husband and U.S. Marine Corps Captain Todd Siebert in 2007 while serving in Iraq, Darcy experienced some setbacks and getting back on her feet to support her family was something she’s been looking forward to.

Enter the Military Warriors Support Foundation, Wells Fargo and Hendrick Automotive Group to assist with navigating life’s transitions.

Recently, members from all three organizations were on hand at Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet in Charlotte, North Carolina to present Darcy with keys to a brand new, payment-free 2022 Chevrolet Blazer.

“In partnership with Wells Fargo and the Military Warriors Support Foundation, we’re celebrating a very brave and courageous woman that has gone through a lot of sacrifice,” said Chris Boone, Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet general manager. “I’m super honored and humbled to experience and be a part of this special occasion. To be able to give back to someone who is truly deserving of an award like this is pretty special.”

The donation was made through the Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Transportation4Heroes program, which awards payment-free vehicles and provides one year of family and financial mentorship to combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star families.

“I’m still in disbelief,” said Darcy after seeing the vehicle for the first time. “I never thought anything like this would happen.

“I’m unbelievably grateful. It’s so touching and heartwarming and I’m grateful that Military Warriors Support Foundation is here to help military families. Back when Todd died, there were some, but not a lot of organizations (to help). I’m grateful for these organizations, not what they are doing for me, but what they are doing for other families, as well.”

Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet and Hendrick Automotive Group are committed to giving back to our military, our veterans and to their families. Serving others is at the core of Hendrick Automotive Group’s culture.

“We’re not just about selling cars or servicing vehicles. The community is very important to us and Mr. Hendrick and taking opportunities like this to give back are very important. Teaming up with the Military Warriors Support Foundation and Wells Fargo really shows the commitment we have to giving back to our military families and the sacrifices they make for us,” said Boone.

Wells Fargo started the Sponsored Vehicle Donation Program in 2015, and since then have worked with auto dealerships across the country to sponsor the donation of more than 65 payment-free vehicles and family and financial mentoring, valued at over $2 million, to combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star families through Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Transportation4Heroes program.

“Wells Fargo is committed to supporting the financial and transportation needs of military service members, veterans and their families,” said the company. “We are proud to work with Hendrick Automotive Group to sponsor the donation of a new vehicle to Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Transportation4Heroes program, a program dedicated to supporting military service members as they transition back to civilian life and provide brand new payment-free vehicles to combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star families. Together, we thank Gold Star spouse Darcy Siebert for her sacrifice and congratulate her on her new vehicle.”
