The Clarity PHEV operates much like a full-time electric, as its primary source of propulsion is a 181 horsepower electric motor, sourced from a lithium-ion battery. Mated with its 1.5-liter gas engine, the Clarity’s total system output is 212 bhp. In drive, power directs itself towards the front wheels, with the electric motor doing 99 percent of the work.
With multiple drive modes, Sport being the “sportiest,” (Ha. Ha.) the Clarity largely gives drivers an even, predictable driving experience. This vehicle will be familiar to most Honda owners from an interior perspective, especially if you own an Accord. While standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow an up-to-date interface with modern smart phone technology.
Honda’s traditional safety features include road assist, lane-keeping assist, automatic braking, blind-spot camera and adaptive cruise control.
