Express Lube Technician

Hendrick Toyota Scion Merriam, located in Merriam, KS, is looking for Express Lube Technicians with a proven track record to join our team. 

Summary: Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Quick Lube Tech include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Adheres to express lube guidelines.
  • Performs lube, oil and filter changes by draining and replacing oil and filter, and lubricating all joints, including idler arm steering knuckles, tie rods ends and ball joints.
  • Reports all necessary repairs to service consultant.
  • Installs completed oil change reminder sticker in vehicle.
  • Checks battery, tire air pressure, windshield fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid levels and refills as needed.
  • Checks coolant level and refills as necessary.
  • Ensures that vehicle is clean and free of fluid residue or fingerprints.
  • Checks fluid level prior to release of vehicle to ensure proper levels.
  • Adheres to all current OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintains Customer Satisfaction scores at or above company standards.

 Job Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Quick Lube Technician or Automotive Technician preferred.
  • ASE certifications a plus
  • A high level of personal motivation and demonstrated ability to learn and succeed.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Valid in-state driver's license with good driving record

  • Understand the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of technological changes in the products.
  • Know and understand equity and values, and be able to explain depreciation to the customer.
    Know and understand the federal, state and local laws which govern retail auto sales.
  • Introduce customers to service department personnel to emphasize to them the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership's service department.
