Get to Know the Trims for the 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500

For more than a century, Chevy has been making some of the most impressive trucks on the market, powerful pickups that people from all walks of life have come to count on for generations. When you start looking at this truck, you’ll quickly discover you have an incredible number of options, including nine different trim levels. That number can be a bit intimidating, so let’s explore these different models and make it easy to figure out which one is right for you. 

WT

The WT name stands for “Work Truck,” and Chevy has designed this trim with that in mind. While this is technically the entry-level trim that gives you standard options for getting around Sandy Springs, it’s best for fleets and similar commercial applications. It has straightforward and simple features, starting with the standard 2.7L TurboMax engine that provides 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. One benefit of this model is that it’s available in many different configurations, including a single-row regular cab with either a standard or long bed.

On the outside, you’ll find 17-inch wheels, black front and rear bumpers, and halogen headlamps. This model has a standard rear tailgate, although you get a CornerStep rear bumper that makes it easier to get in and out of the bed of this truck. Interior features are also quite simple for the WT, including a seven-inch infotainment display, a 3.5-inch monochromatic Driver Information Center, and a two-speaker or six-speaker sound system, depending on cab size. Vinyl seating is standard with four-way adjustable front seats, with power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, and cruise control, all included. 

Custom

For most folks, the Custom is a better trim to see as the starting point for the 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500. Note that you can’t choose the Regular Cab with this trim, but you can still pick a two-row Double Cab or a more spacious Crew Cab. You get the standard TurboMax engine here, although the Custom comes with larger 20-inch wheels, body-color bumpers, heated power-adjustable side mirrors, and a tailgate with EZ Lift assist and power lock and release. Inside, the Custom includes a number of upgrades such as cloth seating, a ten-way power driver’s seat, and remote start functionality. Overall, the Custom is a great trim to keep things simple, but not too barebones.

LT 

The LT gives you a number of excellent upgrades, making it a great choice if you are looking for enhanced technology in your truck. Although this model still has the standard TurboMax engine, you can also choose a 355-hp 5.3L V8 engine or a Duramax Turbo Diesel engine if you want upgraded performance. Chrome front and rear bumpers, LED headlamps, and daytime running lamps make the LT’s exterior pop as you drive around Sandy Springs. Inside, a gorgeous 13.4-inch infotainment system with Google Built-In and a 12.3-inch color driver information center greet you, providing you with a more refined driving experience. 

RST

The RST trim is your next option for enhanced features and the last model available if you are interested in a Double Cab (the rest are only available with the larger Crew Cab). The RST is only available with four-wheel drive (4WD). It has the same engine options as the LT and unlocks the option of the 6.2L V8 with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The heated front seats and steering wheel of the RST keep you cozy on cool winter mornings, and the dual-zone automatic climate control is perfect for staying comfortable on hot summer days. 

LTZ

The LTZ is the second-highest trim option if you’re not interested in an off-road pickup. The standard engine is the 5.3L V8 engine, with the Duramax Turbo Diesel and 6.2L V8 as available options. Twenty-inch wheels give the LTZ a bold look, and a power tailgate makes it easier to get into the bed. Along with the impressive tech features of the previous models, this one adds a seven-speaker Bose Premium sound system, perforated leather-appointed seating, and ventilated front seats for added comfort. You even get a wireless charging pad to help you keep compatible devices charged. 

High Country

This is the top trim to consider if you want luxury and comfort above everything else, and you’re not looking to head off-road. The High Country trim comes with six-inch chrome rectangular wheel-to-wheel assist steps, a spray-on bedliner, and LED fog lamps. The interior is even more beautifully appointed than previous models, with dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless charging, and Adaptive Cruise Control that makes your daily drive around Sandy Springs easy and relaxing. ZR2

Finally, the ZR2 is the pinnacle off-road version of the Silverado. It comes with either the Duramax Turbo Diesel engine or the 6.2L V8. The ZR2 suspension package includes a high-performance lifted suspension, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires for incredible capabilities on the trail.
