Three Large Luxury SUVs for Up to Eight Passengers

A black 2020 Cadillac Escalade is shown driving in a city after visiting a used car dealership.
If you regularly chauffeur up to eight passengers around, and your passengers demand nothing but the best, then you need a large luxury SUV. As a used car dealership that welcomes plenty of families and professionals who transport clients, we know that having those high-end features and ultra-comfortable cabins can turn a long drive in a full-size SUV from cramped and irritating to a true pleasure. That’s why whenever a customer tells us they want to shop for used luxury cars, we get excited to show them our large selection of luxury SUVs. We work hard to keep a stock of these refined people-haulers on our lot for this very purpose. Here are three terrific large luxury SUVs to check out.

2020 Cadillac Escalade ESV

The Cadillac Escalade ESV is a great choice for someone with a private car service, or who picks up clients they want to impress. It has notably sophisticated style details and should meet the standards of more selective drivers and passengers.

The ESV stands for “Escalade Stretch Vehicle.” The Escalade ESV boasts more third-row legroom and cargo volume than the standard Escalade. In fact, in the third row of the ESV, you’ll find nearly 10 more inches of legroom than you do in the standard Escalade, and overall cargo volume jumps from 94.2 cubic feet in the Escalade to 120.9 cubic feet in the Escalade ESV. It comes standard with second-row captain’s chairs but can be found with a second-row bench seat if you require the full eight seats.

A powerful V8 engine sits beneath the Escalade ESV’s hood, a 6.2L V8 producing 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.. It is available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. Two-wheel drive unlocks the ESV’s maximum trailering capability of 8,100 pounds, but the all-wheel drive version can still tow a good 7,900 pounds. You’ll always enjoy a smooth ride in the ESV thanks to a Magnetic Ride Control Suspension, which constantly monitors the road and makes adjustments for better responsiveness.

The Escalade ESV is a luxury vehicle, no matter what trim you get. However, the Platinum trim gets you a leather-wrapped instrument panel, console, and upper door trim, along with premium semi-aniline leather seating surfaces in the first and second rows. The driver and front-seat passenger enjoy 18-way adjustable seats with a massage function. Plus, power-retractable assist steps make it easy for everyone to hop in and out of this beautiful SUV’s cabin.

Adult and young passengers will love the available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. It can connect up to seven devices, meaning with the second-row captain’s chair configuration, everyone can log on and enjoy the Internet from the road. Meanwhile, the rear-seat entertainment system gives backseat passengers personal viewing screens to watch TV shows, movies, and more.

2020 Lexus GX 460

The Lexus GX 460 might have been designed with the more adventurous driver in mind. We say this because of its full-time four-wheel drive configuration, making it always ready to tackle uneven surfaces and wet roads. Whether you live somewhere with severe winters or you like to explore rough roads, the Lexus GX 460 is ready for you.

The 2020 Lexus GX 460 is available as a six-seater, with captain’s chairs in all three rows, or a seven-seater with a second-row bench seat. With the rear seats all down, you get 64.7 cubic feet of cargo volume in this SUV. A convenient tilt-and-slide second-row makes it easy for third-row passengers to get to their seats.

The Lexus GX 460 enjoys a powerful 4.6L V8 engine that kicks out 301 hp and can tow 6,500 pounds. Some of its more impressive performance features will come in models equipped with the Off-Road Package. This will add a Multi-Terrain system that lets you select from several surfaces, including mud, loose rocks, and sand. In each case, the vehicle will adjust appropriately for enhanced traction. It also adds a Multi-Terrain Monitor, which adds several new camera views, including an under-vehicle view to see what you’re crawling over. Finally, its Crawl Control system helps you tackle particularly hilly terrain with ease.

The 2020 Lexus GX 460 is applauded for having a noticeably quiet cabin, melting away outside noises and creating a haven for everyone inside. Available ten-way power seats with lumbar adjustability should keep the driver more than comfortable. Available heated and ventilated front seats, heated outboard second-row seats, and three-zone climate control should keep everyone else content and comfortable. Inside, you’ll find stunning leather upholstery and wood paneling accented with some brushed aluminum materials.

This SUV's stand-out feature must be the Mark Levinson Premium Sound System. It was designed specifically for the Lexus GX 460, rather than separately and added as an afterthought. It gets you 17 speakers, 330 watts of maximum power, and a 7.1-channel system. Find a model with the available dual-screen rear entertainment system, and you give backseat passengers a screening area.

2022 Wagoneer

Don’t call it a Jeep! The brand’s luxury brand, the Wagoneer, is practically a living room on wheels. It represents the pinnacle of luxury for some in the large SUV space, with every trim (called “Series”) boasting stunning interior and best-in-class technology.

This eight-seater has a standard 40/20/40 split-folding second-row bench seat or available second-row captain’s chairs for the eight-seating configuration. If you get the bench seat, the seats conveniently slide for easy third-row access and recline for passenger comfort. Even the third-row seats have available reclining powers so everyone can get cozy.

With a 5.7L V8 engine beneath its hood kicking out 392 horsepower and the mild-hybrid eTorque system, the Wagoneer combines brawn with impressive fuel economy for its vehicle class. In fact, it can tow up to 10,000 pounds, making it more than ready for those needing to pull some serious vessels behind their SUV.

Memory comes standard across several components, including the driver’s seat, exterior mirrors, and power-adjustable pedals. So once you’ve found your ideal settings for each of these important parts, the Wagoneer will remember them each time you start your engine. Tri-zone climate control will keep passengers all the way in the back comfortable. Meanwhile, an available panoramic tri-pane sunroof lets the light in from front to back when you want it.

A 10.1-inch touchscreen shows you your directions, playlists, and more, large and clear. Available TomTom Connected Traffic & Travel services help you get where you’re going and find points of interest along the way. There is an available rear-seat entertainment system, and if you find a model with one, you’ll enjoy Amazon Fire TV streaming services for rear-seat passengers.
