Each year, Hendrick Automotive Group hosts two annual company-wide fundraising drives – one in the spring and one around Thanksgiving – to help fight hunger in our communities.
What began as a yearly tradition of teammates collecting, packing and distributing tens of thousands of meal boxes in person turned into a virtual program that helped us to reach significantly more neighbors in need. Despite the pandemic and our new fundraising format, our teammates were more than eager to provide support, food and nourishment to more than eight million people throughout the country in the last year-and-a-half.
Now powered by employee donations, the organization’s Hendrick Hunger Heroes Drive continues to be a success, with teammates and the organization contributing $681,515 company-wide to our 27 partner food banks this spring.
This year’s substantial contribution was in large part to our teammates at Hendrick Honda of Charleston, who had the highest percentage of teammate participation in this year’s spring drive.

Because of their strong achievement, the Charleston, South Carolina-based dealership was awarded with the rear bumper from the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet that competed in the 2022 DAYTONA 500. Reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson offered his congrats by autographing the bumper before it was delivered.
General Manager Wendell Hairfield unveiled the bumper during their monthly luncheon, which was racing-themed, of course, and will proudly display their accolade inside the dealership for all teammates and customers to see.

Hendrick Automotive Group and its employees have contributed more than $2.1 million in the last year-and-a-half (since Thanksgiving 2020), with funds helping to provide meals, supplies and personal protective equipment to our neighbors in need. The contribution is a combination of teammate fundraising and Hendrick Automotive Group corporate gifts across all of our 93 dealerships, 26 collision centers, and four accessories distributor installers.
