When NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson takes the wheel during The Chase race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Oct. 4, his No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet will pay tribute to the late Kyle Busch with a special throwback paint scheme.

The design honors Busch’s career with Hendrick Motorsports by recreating the blue, red and neon yellow color palette from one of his most iconic No. 5 paint schemes. Name rails will add a personal touch to the tribute, with Busch’s signature prominently displayed above the passenger-side window and “Tiny Kyle,” a playful nickname Busch gave Larson, on the opposite side.

KB%20Tribute%20Render%202.pngA portion of the royalties actually received from the sale of the Kyle Larson No. 5 HendrickCars.com Kyle Busch Tribute Chevrolet merchandise will support The Samantha & Kyle Busch Bundle of Joy Fund.

For Larson, the tribute carries special meaning: “Kyle Busch and I didn’t just share the No. 5. He was someone I really looked up to and one of the greatest competitors I’ve ever shared the track with. To have the opportunity to honor him with this scheme is going to be really special, especially at his home track in Las Vegas. I’m thankful to HendrickCars.com, Samantha Busch and the entire Busch family for allowing us to do this and celebrate what Kyle meant to me and so many others across the sport.”

KB%20Tribute%20Render%203.pngLas Vegas Motor Speedway provides a fitting setting for the tribute. A Las Vegas native, Busch developed his passion for racing at a young age and became a teenage sensation competing in Legend Cars and Late Models at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He went on to have a 20-plus-year career across NASCAR’s three national series and amassed an all-time record 234 race wins, seven of which came at his home track.

Busch joined Hendrick Motorsports as a developmental driver in 2003 and quickly rose through the organization’s ranks. He was named NASCAR Busch Series Rookie of the Year in 2004 after winning five races and finishing runner-up in the final standings. That same season, he made his Cup Series debut before taking over the No. 5 Chevrolet full time in 2005. From 2005 to 2007, Busch made 108 Cup Series starts for Hendrick Motorsports, earning four victories, 51 top-10 finishes and 2005 Cup Series Rookie of the Year honors.

KB Tribute Render 4.pngYears later, Busch’s relationship with the Hendrick organizations entered a new chapter through the HendrickCars.com Racing program. In 2026, HendrickCars.com served as a partial-season primary sponsor of the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado for his select CRAFTSMAN Truck Series starts with Spire Motorsports. Busch’s final appearance in the No. 7 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Silverado resulted in a trip to Victory Lane at Dover Motor Speedway on May 15, 2026, marking the final NASCAR national series win of his storied career.

Join us as we celebrate the life and legacy of Kyle Busch, a racing legend and member of the HendrickCars.com Racing family, during the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, Oct. 4 (5:30 p.m. ET on USA).
